About the event
Opera Cultura presents Chicanísima in association with Quinteto Latino, a chamber opera by Carla Lucero based on the life of Chicana activist Olga Talamante and originally commissioned by the ensemble. Presented as a one-hour staged concert at MACLA (Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana), the program also features selected arias by Latina composers and librettists, celebrating powerful contemporary voices in opera. Soprano Alexa Sessler, mezzo-soprano Jessica Gonzalez-Roddriguez, and tenor Sergio Gonzalez bring this intimate and compelling performance to life.
